We have eliminated distilled water completely from our formulations and replaced it with therapeutic and truly sensorial plant waters, called hydrosols (good to be aware that majority of personal care products are based on cost-free, distilled water with a content up to even 90%!) By replacing it with precious hydrosols, we make each ingredient count, and your skin benefits even more. Skinmimetic Moisture Essence, for example, contains over 60% of this precious hydrolat, and you get to decide which one suits your skin and emotional needs most (damask rose, english lavender, roman chamomile). Preservatives can have impact on the overall skin microbiome balance leading to long term damages, that is why we apply gentle self-preservation techniques. They are based on skin identical approach using intelligent combination of hurdles to protect our formulations from spoilage. Just the way your skin is capable of defending itself from pathogenic bacteria. It sets up many hurdles against the unwanted invaders that unable them to thrive. It’s slightly shorter than the majority of market products because we don’t use strong antimicrobial preservatives in our formulations. Our products are guaranteed to last for 18 months when stored under normal usage conditions, and up to 2 years when stored at cooler temperatures (in the fridge). But once opened, use your moisturiser within 4 months and your cleanser within 6 months. Do not detach the pumps from the bottles to keep the formula free from external contamination.

You don’t need to refrigerate Twin Skin products, however it helps to keep them fresh for longer, especially when you are away or using another product at that moment.

Our products contain a low level of essential oils, so remember to check all the ingredients on the list and make sure they are compatible with your skin. We strongly recommend performing a patch test at home by applying a small amount behind the ear to see how your skin tolerates it. Our products were dermatologically tested and show no signs of skin irritation potential. They were used by consumers with sensitive skin and worked well for them. Also, if you don’t tolerate scents and require scent-free, this product might not be suitable.

Twin Skin Products contain over 96% natural origin ingredients. The scent is 100% natural and comes from floral waters (hydrosols) and aromatic essential oils.

You can use the product same way as any other moisturiser, twice a day (morning and evening). It’s a concentrated formula, so we recommend sticking to this routine. Remember that only regular use brings best effects! You will feel the difference in how your skin feels after the first application but it will be another few months to get that healthy glow back onto your skin.

Skin identical ingredients are molecules that are able to mimic the composition of naturally occurring elements found within your skin. Skin identical ingredients include your own Natural Moisturising Factor (urea, pca, lactic acid, proteins, hyaluronic acid) as well as lipid barrier components (squalene, rich in fatty acids, vitamin E and sterols plant oils). They are highly compatible with your skin, because they are your skin! We apply skin identical ingredients to naturally balance skin functions, recover physiological hydration and replenish protective lipid barrier. 

Maintaining a slightly acidic skin pH (around 5.0) is crucial for skin health. It determines the appropriate activity of immune cells, regulates skin renewal,  recovery and provides the right environment for a balanced skin microbiome. Every skin care product is a potential skin surface modifier, which is why we pay extra attention to it and adjust the pH of our formulations to skin’s physiological level during development. Our skin moisturisers were in-vivo tested to prove their pH balancing effect after application.

Our Skinmimetic Moisturiser contains hyaluronic acid and you should always apply HA to damp skin. It strongly attracts moisture (like a magnet), holding 1,000 times its own weight in water. If applied to dry skin, it will draw moisture out of the face, making it dehydrated, which is the opposite of what we want to achieve. It contains no water itself, so the more water you combine it with, the better it works. Always apply straight after cleansing before you let your skin dry out.
